When it comes to Transgender and Transsexuals there are some including our Government officials who act like we do not exist. The FBI doesn't keep hate crime statistics commited against us. One would bet that they have statistics on Transgenders who have broken the law though. That makes front page news. Hate crimes against us do not. It doesn't matter that we have a list of dead or even that three quarters of us have been a victim of either violent or non-violent hate crimes. Estimates have our suicide rate at 31%. Three years ago I did three email surveys on this site on suicide attempts among Transsexuals. The result was so high I repeated it 2 more times to make sure. Over 50% had had at least one suicide attempt by their 20th birthday. I figured I had proof. I was told it was unscientific because of 2 answer choices not being worded properly. Does this mean it didn't happen? Of course it doesn't.

According to religous fundamentalists there is no credible evidence or scientific proof that we commit suicide or have been the victims of hate crimes in the numbers we claim. Here we have talked to hundreds of thousands of Transgender users and know that the fundamentalists claims are total BULL. They want us to prove it and prove it we shall. With the Hate Crimes and ENDA bills in Congress and other countries and states debating Transgender rights these statistics are vital.

I have purchased Survey software and the services of SurveyMonkey which many top corporations use for their scientific surveys. I am co-authoring our first scientific survey on the subject of transgender suicide. Both the survey design and reponses are being monitored by A Doctor of Psychology and a Gender Therapist. The name can be found on the first page of the survey. This increases the scientific value. There are many more Transgender, Transsxual, HBS, Intersex and crossdresser surveys planned.
